Biking Weekend Trip

UPDATE: Gear. I've removed the Cycling Day Trip gear list from this page and typed out what is necessary to bring from that list. The two lists had conflicting information, sorry about that. The current gear information is correct, and hopefully more clear. Also, we will be cooking dinner tonight at the campsite rather than buying fast food on the way. So don't steal as much of your parents money!

This weeked is sure to be filled with fun, fun, and ........ racing down and up hills on bikes!!!! Mountain biking is a sport that is being brought back this year after many years of it dying on us, in many different stages of planning. This year, the plan is to make it work. The sequence started with a night at Two Wheel Tango and is now ending with a full weekend biking at some of the most intense areas in Michigan.

We will be camping at Island Lake Recreation Area, which is only a 45 minute drive from Ann Arbor. This means we will have plenty of time to cook extremely good meals, and relax after a full year of school. There are mountain biking trails at Island Lake that we can ride on, but also trails at Brighton Recreation Area and Lakeshore Park in Novi that are within driving distance that patrols can choose to go too. Patrols will go biking on Saturday and Sunday, and will probably return in the late afternoon on Sunday.

Pre - trips are very important for this sequence. We absolute can not bring anyone biking with us who we haven't seen biking with us. Therefore, it is required that your bike passes the bike check, and that you come to at least 3 of the 5 biking nights.  At these nights we will be able to make sure you are ready to hit the trail come this trip, and rip it up with the rest of the guys. If you do not meet these requirements, and still would like to go, talk with the trip leader to see what you can do to go.
