It is yet again time for Troop 8's annual pilgrimage to Holiday Valley. Holiday Valley is a ski resort in western New York and has much larger hills then anywhere in Michigan! Easily the best skiing we can do with a weekend drive, and enough variety to entertain skiers of all ability levels!
You might be overwhelmed by all the options. But do not fret, your amazing ski instructors will teach at you until you can do all the slopes backwards. Seriously, Holiday Valley is a great place to get a big bump up in your skiing, especially if you're coming to Vermont with us later this winter.
We will be staying in cabins, so you don't need full winter sleeping gear, but you will want to bring a sleeping bag and pad and whatever you need to ski comfortably during the day. In particular it will be a very warm and wet weekend - make sure to bring a good waterproof jacket and pants. If you need loaner gear, let us know in advance if possible.
You will need to bring your skis, poles, boots, and helmet/goggles if you wish. If you need rental skis, please let your patrol leader know. You have to come to 2 ski days OR 1 ski day AND the Polar Bear to go to Holiday valley!
